Job Description

The Center for Strategic and International Studies, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Deputy Director and Senior Fellow to join its esteemed team. As a key member of the organization's leadership, this individual will play a pivotal role in advancing the research priorities of the Economics Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust research agenda on trade, investment, international finance, supply chain resilience, commercial diplomacy, and new economic alliances
  • Provide strategic guidance and lead research projects under the Economics Program while contributing to economic analysis on select projects across the Department
  • Help position the Economics Program to contribute to and spearhead the EST Department's strategic research priorities
  • Identify opportunities for funding, thought partnership with the private sector and investment community, and broadening the base of support for the EST economics agenda

About the Role

This Deputy Director and Senior Fellow will serve as a respected voice on economic policy, particularly on international finance and economic security, promoting the program's analysis to diverse stakeholders including governments, academia, and the private sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with contacts related to policy work.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a master's degree in a relevant field
  • A proven entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying challenges, setting priorities, and implementing policy-relevant solutions
  • Demonstrated experience managing a research agenda and fundraising for research projects
  • A history of publishing in national and international media and academic journals
