Your Role

We have an opening for a Derivatives Finance Associate position with a potential start date immediately. As an associate, you will gain exposure to elements of securities law, tax law, equity derivative sales, securities trading, and asset management. You will be responsible for drafting closing documents, compiling and consolidating legal documents, assisting in the filing of deals with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, maintaining detailed records of client deal history, and assuming responsibility for crucial administrative duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Closing Documents: Draft closing documents for clients by incorporating economic terms.
  • Legal Document Management: Compile and consolidate legal documents for clients by summarizing transactional history.
  • Deal Filing: Assist in the filing of deals with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Client Records: Maintain detailed records of client deal history and assume responsibility for crucial administrative duties relating to those records.
  • Document Tracking: Utilize Firm document management systems, databases, and other resources to track and organize many forms of documents and privileged information.

Qualifications

  • Education: Enrolled at a four-year college/university (preferably in Economics, Finance or other related fields); minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interest in financial markets.
  • Work Experience: Capacity to work in a team setting and perform tasks/projects independently, ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines, and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Interest in Law/Finance: Interest in pursuing law school or a career in law/finance is a plus.
  • Work Hours: Able to work approximately 15-20 hours a week.

Compensation & Benefits

The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The estimated annual salary range for this position in New York is $40,000 - $60,000.
