The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opening for a Release Train Engineer supporting the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at DISA. This contract encompasses the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Additionally, it includes support to other key tasks for DISA, such as the transformation of DISA's operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA's mission partners.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to commute to Scott AFB, IL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Ogden, UT daily. You will also need to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance and Security + certification within 14 days of hire.

As a Release Train Engineer, you will work within a fast-paced, Agile team to verify and validate changes made to the system, develop more efficient and modern test techniques and processes, and facilitate ART practices and PI execution. You will also escalate impediments, manage risk, and ensure value delivery and relentless improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through an Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Manage schedule execution and plan software/architecture releases for the program
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration within the program via Scrum of Scrums meeting and other less formal forums in support of development, testing, and deployment efforts
  • Summarize Team PI objectives into Program PI objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities through metrics across the program's agile and DevOps teams
  • Brief customers on development progress throughout the PI cycle and on the status of testing, deployment, and release readiness
  • Acquire understanding of large complex software systems and assess risk and varied customer concerns
  • C coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Project/Program Leaders in Agile practices
  • Promote teamwork to achieve PI goals
  • Lead teams towards Agile maturity
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Work with Scrum teams to identify dependencies and critical path items to ensure work is executed in the most efficient manner
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks and remove blockers
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and Security + certification within 14 days of hire
  • Ability to commute to Scott AFB, IL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Ogden, UT daily
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Master's with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience working with Agile software development teams, managing project deadlines (ideally in a Scrum Master or Development role)
  • Experience briefing leadership and/or customers on key project status
  • Experience communicating with and briefing status to external stakeholders, including customer representatives
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possesses 3-5 years' experience with ServiceNow administration, configuration management, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform
  • Prior knowledge and experience with ServiceNow's ATFs
  • Understanding of ITIL foundation or ITIL certified
  • AWS cloud certifications
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence

We offer a competitive salary range of $89,700.00 - $162,150.00.
