Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Women & Infants Providence, working on a weekend per diem basis in the Adult/Med Surg department. As a Physical Therapist, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical therapy needs, developing individualized treatment plans to address impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities.
  • Practice in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on physical therapy techniques and strategies for maintaining independence and mobility.
  • Direct and supervise support personnel, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources, prioritizing patient care and safety.
  • Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes, adhering to facility and professional guidelines.
  • Orient, train, and mentor therapy and healthcare students, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Identify and implement performance improvement opportunities, contributing to the advancement of best practices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques for managing rehabilitation populations.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution.
  • Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Computer proficiency, with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Maintain a variable work schedule, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel, to provide patient care.
