About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled Autopsy Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our mortuary staff, you will be responsible for the care and preparation of deceased individuals, ensuring that they are handled with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for deceased persons with compassion and professionalism
  • Transport bodies to and from mortuaries, hospitals, and other facilities
  • Prepare bodies for viewing by relatives and friends
  • Assist with autopsies and embalming procedures
  • Sanitize and clean mortuary vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of body inventory and personal effects
  • Collaborate with mortuary staff to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license in the state of assignment
  • Knowledge of mortuary procedures and protocols
  • Prior experience working in a mortuary or coroner's office preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
