We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented pharmacy student to join our team at Lakes Medical Center as a pharmacy intern. As a pharmacy intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities- Assist in the dispensing of prescription medications to patients/customers, ensuring accurate labeling and dispensing in a timely fashion.
- Identify and resolve patient-specific medication-related problems and issues in the patient's best interest.
- Prepare sterile products using appropriate aseptic technique, adhering to USP 797 requirements.
- Perform bulk compounding and packaging duties to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medications, following USP 795 and 797 requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions with clinical pharmacy specialists, pharmacy residents, and technicians.
- Acceptance or enrollment in the first year of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- Registered Technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy (required prior to start date).
