Job Details:

Overview:

The Inter-Branch Parts Transport Operator is responsible for the movement of components between various JX Truck Center locations. This role also includes the transportation of parts from the Paccar warehouse to the JX Truck Center branches.

Compensation: $18-22/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct daily trips to the Paccar warehouse and Peterbilt locations.
  2. Load products onto the vehicle at the Distribution Center and prepare them for transport.
  3. Utilize power equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, for loading tasks as necessary.
  4. Perform thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and cargo to ensure compliance with safety and mechanical standards.
  5. Inspect the tractor-trailer for any defects before and after trips, submitting required inspection reports.
  6. Verify the accuracy of the bill of lading.
  7. Deliver products from the Distribution Center to designated locations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
  8. Unload products at the dock, ensuring cargo is intact and completing necessary documentation.
  9. Adhere to all company driving policies and procedures throughout the job.
  10. Maintain compliance with all state and federal testing and licensing requirements.
  11. Keep a detailed driver log in accordance with DOT regulations, documenting deliveries and any exceptions.
  12. Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations as per company policies.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience driving tractor-trailers is necessary.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required; CDL is mandatory.
  • Ability to follow established safe driving protocols.
  • Proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Capability to perform all tasks safely, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Flexibility to drive during both day and night shifts.
  • Skill in maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including vendors and team members.
  • Dependable and consistent attendance is essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Intermediate driving skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in forklift operation.

Education:

High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience:

Preferred experience of 3 years as a Truck Driver.
