Job Title: RN-5 Medical/Surgical

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision and management of care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making necessary referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop individualized plans of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
  • Promptly complete documentation to ensure an accurate legal record of patient care.
  • Deliver high-quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit.
  • Utilize a holistic approach, considering physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients and families served.
  • Delegate and provide direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and hold them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
  • Utilize critical thinking in developing nursing interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire)
  • One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficacy
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
