Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring accurate and efficient dispensing of medications, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the preparation and dispensing of medications, and the maintenance of accurate records.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, and process prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
- Participate in training and development programs to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge in pharmacy operations and customer service.
Requirements
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens
- Prefer good math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications)
- Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents and/or access information on-line)
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control
