At Day Kimball Healthcare, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians to determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Directs pharmacy technicians in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, and verifies pharmaceuticals before dispensing and distribution.
- May assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Enters data into pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- May instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy and pharmaceutical information.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Licensed in the state of Connecticut or eligible for reciprocity required.
- Two years of previous hospital experience preferred.
