Position Summary: As a Nursing Hospital House Supervisor, you will work under the direction of the Manager of Nurse Staffing, the Director of Medical/Surgical Services, and the Administrator On-Call. Your primary responsibility is to oversee and maintain quality patient care through effective management of clinical activities during your assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of nurse staffing to ensure the appropriate number and type of nursing personnel to care for the number and acuity of patients.
  • Review of patient care daily, visiting patients regularly, making suggestions to improve care, and becoming involved in the care of selected patients.
  • Demonstration of an understanding of the budget process and staffing plan, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions.
  • Participation in the monitoring, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining process.
  • Ensuring the timely admission of patients from the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Direct Admissions, and the Access Center.
  • Responding as a patient advocate during off-hours to patient concerns and reporting these interactions to the Patient Advocacy Department.
  • Responding to all CODE/RRT situations throughout the facility.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Three years minimum of experience in acute care preferred.
  • Three years minimum of supervisory experience.
