Big Y is seeking a skilled Butcher and Seafood Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

**Salary:** $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

**Job Description:**

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Butcher and Seafood Specialist to work in our meat and seafood department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting our products to ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.

In this role, you will:

  1. Exceed customer expectations by preparing fresh, high-quality products and providing exceptional customer service.

  2. Collaborate with fellow team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

  3. Process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price, and label meat and seafood products to ensure accuracy and presentation.

  4. Process special customer requests, including special cuts of meats and seafood as necessary.

  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including shelves, cases, and equipment.

  6. Collaborate with management to ensure operational and sales goals are met.

  7. Provide training and guidance to colleagues as needed.

  8. Order, receive, prepare, and stock products as needed.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Previous experience in a food preparation or sales environment.

  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

  5. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  6. Meat/seafood butcher and culinary training program or equivalent experience.
