Position Title: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Department: Urgent Care Services

Reporting To: Supervising Physician & Director/Associate Director of Physician Offices

Position Summary: This role encompasses the responsibilities of an APRN/PA under the general oversight of a supervising provider.

Qualifications: A minimum of two years of experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine is required. While being a DOT Provider is preferred, it is not mandatory. Experience in Urgent Care is also preferred but not essential. Candidates must be open to working weekends, late shifts, and some holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation:
    • Gather and document comprehensive health histories.
    • Conduct physical and developmental assessments.
    • Order necessary diagnostic tests and laboratory work.
    • Diagnose and manage health conditions.
    • Provide health education and counseling to patients.
    • Initiate referrals as needed, in consultation with the supervising physician.
    • Ensure timely and complete documentation.
    • Maintain health records in compliance with Meaningful Use standards.
  • Daily Duties:
    • Complete all patient notes within 48 hours.
    • Submit finalized documentation to the supervising provider for approval.
    • Enter all outpatient patient charges after each encounter.
    • Address and resolve all patient-related tasks daily.
    • Assist the supervising provider with their responsibilities.
    • Help with paperwork and forms as directed.
    • Return patient calls as necessary.
  • End-of-Day Procedures:
    • Verify that all messages have been addressed.
    • Ensure all tasks, labs, and diagnostics have been reviewed and acted upon.
    • Communicate with the supervising physician regarding any outstanding issues.
    • Log off workstations properly.

Additional Duties:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to colleagues, patients, and the public.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Attend all required meetings with physicians, hospitals, or directors.
  • Participate in the annual Florida Medical Clinic Physician Conference.
  • Engage in monthly Clinical Team Training meetings.
  • Consult with the supervising provider as necessary for patient care.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Normal physical capabilities.
  • Above-average concentration and complex decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • High tolerance for stressful situations.

Occupational Hazards:

  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.

Job Requirements:

  • Licensed as an APRN or PA.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
