Job Summary:

The Power Systems Electric Power Specialist provides technical problem-solving assistance to employees and customers in the generator/power generation, switchgear, and electrical markets. They analyze, research, develop, design, organize, and implement solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves frequent in-territory travel and providing technical information support inside and outside the company.

Effectiveness in this role depends on competency in technical functional areas, practices, and processes, building successful relationships, establishing credibility, and providing solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical problem-solving assistance to employees and customers
  • Analyze, research, develop, design, organize, and implement solutions
  • Provide technical information support inside and outside the company
  • Assist with the development and delivery of career path training for service technicians

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in a closely related field
  • A minimum of seven years of directly related experience and/or training in the power generation industry with Caterpillar experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Caterpillar power generation products and OEM equipment, operations, and parts

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds
