Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Community Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Handling
    • Provide top-notch animal care by assessing animal needs and developing effective care plans.
    • Conduct thorough examinations and diagnostic procedures to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.
  • Supporting Veterinary Care
    • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures and provide essential support during medical treatments.
    • Administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Lab and Diagnostic Support
    • Collect and process laboratory samples for analysis and diagnosis.
    • Conduct diagnostic imaging and other tests to support veterinary care.
  • Client Communication
    • Communicate effectively with pet owners to provide updates on animal care and treatment.
    • Address client concerns and provide education on animal health and wellness.
  • Facility Maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
    • Ensure proper sterilization and sanitation of equipment and facilities.
  • Continuous Learning
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and technologies.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
  • Current certification as a veterinary technician or assistant (CVT or CVA) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Physical stamina to lift, move, and restrain animals as needed.
