Job Summary

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements and reducing product and process variation through the use of statistical tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of process improvements and control strategies to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze production problems and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operations personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new equipment and operating procedures to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead and participate in safety, quality, cost, and process improvement projects to drive business results.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in operations, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, statistical process controls, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and MSE.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and develop influential relationships at multiple levels within an organization.
  • Ability to lead in a positive and collaborative manner and influence others.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office, Lotus Notes, MINITAB, AutoCAD, and QSI experience.
  • Previous ISO experience with implementation, improvement, and sustainment.
  • Previous Six Sigma exposure/experience, Green Belt/Black Belt certification a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with controls, instrumentation, PLC knowledge.
  • Previous experience with PSA/web-based processes.
  • Web handling experience.
