- Count Accountability and Procedure Precision: Ensure accurate surgical counts and promptly report any corrections or discrepancies, maintaining awareness of procedure-specific requirements and protocols.
- Effective Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with the surgical team, ensuring the efficient execution of physician's orders and anticipating the needs of surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
- Education and Certifications: High school graduate or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program and Surgical Technician certification preferred.
- Experience and Skills: Experience with instrumentation in the operating room is a plus, but not mandatory for entry-level candidates; strong communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for patient care.
- Physical Demands and Work Conditions: Ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear during shifts; occasional lifting and moving of patients and equipment; exposure to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, and other potential hazards.
