Job Summary

As a Radiology Imaging Specialist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by operating radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray films. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and provide clear instructions to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Develop and process radiologic film, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Deliver film to requesters for reading and interpretation, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Maintain the x-ray exam room, stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies, and performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and vendor notification of equipment failures, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Disseminate x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log and ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary, and gather and prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over-read.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or completion of an accredited radiology program.
  • SCRQS license and ARRT certification for Radiology.
  • New graduates must obtain and submit a Permanent SCRQS license within 30 days of passing the ARRT registry.
  • May work with a temporary B SCRQS license for 30 days.
  • In lieu of the accredited radiology program, completion of the diploma program through AnMed Health is acceptable.
  • Any education considered grandfathered by the American Registry for Radiology Technologists is also acceptable.
  • One year of physician practice experience is preferred.
