**Job Overview:**
Pelican Products Inc is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer Lead to join our team in South Deerfield, MA. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs that ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
  • Assess risk of production failures, process deviations, and customer complaints through root cause analysis and trend investigation.
  • Plan, implement, and manage compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements.
  • Design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, equipment, and finished products.
  • Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis upon product failure and/or system breakdown, and act as a first point of contact for investigations and decision-making on product uniformity.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Two years' experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in an ISO 9001 certified environment, and/or regulated environment (life-science) and/or automated assembly organizations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing documentation, such as Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and other business applications.
  • Good knowledge and experience of SAP or similar ERP desired.

**Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years' related experience.
  • Certification in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, 6-sigma, lean, or related areas highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Knowledge of the Cold Chain industry including phase change materials, vacuum insulated panels, plastics, and packaging materials preferred.
