We are seeking a highly skilled Jr. Structural Engineer to join our team at LaBella Associates in Ithaca, NY.

The Building Engineering Division at LaBella provides comprehensive building engineering services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Our engineers are well-versed in new construction, renovations, additions, analysis, special structures, and design/build projects for a variety of clients.

The Structural Discipline at LaBella focuses on structural engineering services, emphasizing new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation. This role will work closely under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.

Candidates will work on a diverse range of project types, including K-12 and higher education, municipal, health care, industrial, commercial, and other unique projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine structural loading criteria, perform complex design calculations, and prepare structural specifications.
  • Perform field investigations and document findings.
  • Work closely with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
  • Produce construction documents using Revit (BIM).
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFI's, and perform field observations during CA phase.

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework.
  • Engineering in Training Certificate (E.I.T.) required.
  • Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood design is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and structural engineering design software (RISA, SAP, and/or TSD) is required.
