Job Summary:

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Officer to join our team. As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and property within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard individuals and property.
  • Respond to emergency incidents within the assigned facility, providing first response and support as needed.
  • Develop and conduct Public Safety training programs to educate employees on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide informal support and resources, including training and onboarding for new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and hospital policies, including those related to firearms, non-lethal weapons, and vehicle safety.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety experience, with a focus on handling firearms and use of force.
  • Valid driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
  • Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) certification required within one year of hire.
  • Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton.
  • Carry company-issued firearm.
