Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Astoria Fire Department team as a Volunteer Firefighter. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in your community while gaining valuable skills and certifications.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $25,000 to $35,000 per year, depending on the number of hours worked and drills attended.

Job Description

Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Assistance

As a Volunteer Firefighter, you will play a vital role in responding to emergency calls, performing fire suppression, and providing emergency medical assistance. You will also participate in regular drills and training sessions to improve your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency calls and perform fire suppression duties
  • Provide emergency medical assistance, including CPR and first aid
  • Participate in regular drills and training sessions
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Pass a comprehensive background check
  • Have vision sufficient to distinguish objects in limited visibility
  • Be physically able to perform duties described
