Position Overview:

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting with the preparation of meals for various catering events and addressing customer needs at AHRC Nassau. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities including cashiering, maintaining cleanliness, supporting operations, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Culinary Supervisor and assistant supervisor in the preparation of diverse food items, including hot and cold dishes, beverages, salads, and sandwiches.
  • Executing kitchen sanitation tasks, ensuring all work areas, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and maintained to high standards.
  • Assisting in inventory management by physically counting supplies to guarantee adequate food stock for upcoming needs.
  • Carrying out cashiering responsibilities as necessary.
  • Providing mentorship and training to fellow staff members engaged in similar tasks.
  • Delivering various food items to designated locations as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid NYS Driver's License is necessary.
  • Previous experience in food service is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are essential.
