Department Head

Foster Farms is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee the various departments of responsibility and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for meeting department and company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.

• Leadership and Development: Develop and train supervisors and team members to meet current and future business needs, working within company policies and guidelines.
• Performance Monitoring: Provide quick and timely feedback to plant/shift managers on exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety, and manage the correction of areas out of acceptable parameters.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure department compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations, including USDA, SSOP, and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs.
• Team Safety: Oversee the administration of safety orientations, training, and meetings to maintain a safe work environment and achieve zero incidents.
• Process Improvement: Participate in department meetings to plan, test, and develop techniques and processes to drive business growth.
• Asset Management: Ensure proper maintenance of company assets and make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively, strong leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment.
• Problem-Solving: Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.
