Job Summary

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Counselor for our Family Recovery Center (FRC) in Mastic. The Counselor will provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults directly impacted by alcohol and drugs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the most appropriate and highest level of service to clients.
  • Manage a caseload of clients and provide case management services.
  • Complete intake assessments and conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Make accurate diagnoses and confer with supervisor when needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and crisis plans for clients.
  • Work with clients to reach treatment goals and change goals as needed.
  • Efficiently access other necessary services for clients.
  • Complete progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CASAC/CASAC-T or related education required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with substance use disorders required; experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills required.
