Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Rooms is a key member of the Rooms Division team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction and quality in the Rooms department. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and coach team members to deliver exceptional service and maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Housekeeping department and ensure that all staff are properly trained to handle emergency situations.
  • Assist the Laundry department with supervisory duties and assist in the completion of projects as required.
  • Cooperate with the Sales Department to ensure that client room requirements are met and that potential clients are shown representative rooms as required.
  • Maintain an atmosphere within the property that encourages an exchange of information and builds rapport between all employees.
  • Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents and follow up to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and lead Front Office team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure that large guestroom turns are managed efficiently and prepare and conduct all housekeeping interviews and follow hiring procedures.
  • Develop team member morale and ensure training of housekeeping personnel.
  • Always promote positive public/team member relations and maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of successful supervisor experience in hotel front office with a 150+ room property.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in rooms control and front office operations.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Hotel, Business, or Institutional Management or related area is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
