As a key member of the accounting department, this individual will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial operations and growth initiatives.

Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Leading the monthly close process for one to two manufacturing plants, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Processing payroll for one to two manufacturing plants weekly using a third-party payroll provider.
  • Managing accounts payable for one to two plants, including receiving vendor invoices, completing the three-way match, and obtaining approval for payments.
  • Entering approved invoices in the company's ERP system and processing check runs for assigned locations on a weekly basis.
  • Assisting with the year-end close process, including annual review with external accountants.
  • Participating in general accounting operations, including cash application, customer pricing updates, account reconciliations, and other related tasks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-4+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with a strong understanding of accounting procedures, principles, and regulations (GAAP).
  • ERP system and general ledger management experience, as well as proficiency in using pivot tables, look-up functionality, and formatting reports in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow tasks and projects through to resolution.
  • A self-starter mentality, with a willingness to seek out opportunities to help and adapt to changing priorities.
