Dietary Assistant

The Manor at Blue Water Bay is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility seeking a compassionate and qualified individual to join our team as a Dietary Aide.

• Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serve meals in the health center pantries.
• Set up tables in the health center dining room(s) and break them down after meals.
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries.
• Transport non-food items to and from the health center pantries.
• Wash silver, glass, and china in dish machines in pantries as per regulation.
• Provide health center snacks and supplements per diet orders.
• Maintain stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms.
• Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order.
• Take orders, provide service, and requested items both graciously and courteously.
• Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service.
• Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
• Ensure that orders match Physician's diet orders.

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions.
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required.
• Ability to plan, organize, and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly.
