Cardiac Sonographer

The Cardiac Sonographer is a vital member of the Wellstar Health System, Inc. team, responsible for performing high-quality cardiac imaging procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Perform echocardiograms, including adult, pediatric, and transesophageal studies
• Measure and calculate cardiac parameters according to laboratory protocol
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members
• Ensure patient safety and well-being at all times
• Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and organized manner
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred
• Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer certification required
• Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
