Position Overview

Location: Wichita, KS

At EmberHope, Inc., we believe in the power of hope and the importance of creating a safe environment for at-risk youth and families. As a Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our premises and the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Maintain a focus on creating a supportive atmosphere for staff and clients through knowledge, sensitivity, and respect.
  • Safety Monitoring: Oversee the entrance and exit of personnel and visitors to ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
  • Security Operations: Utilize detection devices to screen individuals and prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Patrol Duties: Regularly patrol the premises to identify signs of intrusion and ensure the security of all entry points.
  • Incident Reporting: Document daily activities and any irregularities, including property damage or unauthorized presence.
  • Emergency Response: Act promptly in emergency situations, including contacting law enforcement or fire services when necessary.
  • Safety Drills: Assist in organizing and conducting safety drills and ensure proper safety signage is displayed.
Work Allocation

Your time will be spent as follows:

  • 85% on Security Duties
  • 10% on Safety Initiatives
  • 5% on Training and Reporting
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, along with two years of relevant training or experience.
  • A minimum of two years in a customer-focused security role.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and pass all required background checks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
