Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medication management, including dispensing, administering, and documenting use of medication in patient charts
  • Ensure medication rooms are properly stocked and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu
  • Work closely with other members of a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide collaborative trauma-informed psychiatric care to assigned patients
  • Assist RNs with monitoring patients, documenting charts, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Supervise PNAs and serve as a positive role model
  • Assist with admissions and discharges and provide patient and family education, particularly with regards to medications
Requirements
  • Current, Virginia license to practice as a LPN or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement is accepted
  • Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities to include medication administration
  • Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to other staff
  • Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff
  • Effective communication (written, verbal and sign)
  • Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
