Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing manual laboring tasks involving the use of heavy hand tools and heavy power equipment associated with maintenance of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general laboring tasks primarily involved with maintenance of the facilities and grounds at and around FSS facilities, including the Youth Center and Youth Program athletic fields and exterior play space areas.
  • Operate walking or riding-type power mowers and/or simple riding-type mowers and string trimmers in trimming goals, infields, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides.
  • Maintain gasoline, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily and report equipment problems and failures to supervisors.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed and return equipment to designated location.
Requirements
  • Ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

This position does not have a minimum education requirement. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required.
