Job Summary
Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist Lead to join our team in a clinical leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical leader and resource in the operating room, providing guidance and support to surgical technologists and other clinical staff.
- Assist the OR Service Leader in ensuring unit compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, as well as JCAHO standards.
- Analyze data and identify areas for improvement, working collaboratively with the OR team to implement process changes and enhance patient care.
- Provide mentoring and training to surgical technologists, promoting professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with other clinical disciplines to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Demonstrate expertise in aseptic and surgical techniques, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT.
- BLS via AHA required.
- Surgical Technologist registration required.
- Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at time of hire; registration must be completed within 6 months of hire.
