Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
  • Participate in wellness and recreational programs and encourage residents to participate
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
