Position Overview:

Soliant is in search of a dedicated and empathetic School-Based Speech Therapist to join our educational team. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional speech and language services to students, engage with educators and families, and help foster a nurturing learning atmosphere. This position involves direct interaction with students from diverse backgrounds, addressing various speech, language, and communication challenges.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Perform thorough assessments to identify speech and language impairments. Evaluate students' communication skills and devise suitable intervention plans.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create, execute, and oversee IEPs for students with specific speech and language requirements. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to establish and reach educational objectives.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students through both individual and group sessions. Customize therapy approaches to meet each student's distinct needs and regularly monitor their progress.
  • Collaboration and Support: Partner with classroom educators, special education personnel, and families to address students' communication needs across various learning environments. Provide strategies and assistance to enhance students' engagement and performance in the classroom.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain precise and current records of student progress, treatment plans, and assessments. Generate reports for parents, educators, and school administrators as necessary.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest practices in speech-language pathology and educational methodologies. Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Georgia. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a school environment is highly valued. Familiarity with a variety of speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, and language acquisition.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Capacity to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Additional Requirements: Must successfully pass background checks and fulfill any other state or school district prerequisites.
