Job OverviewSierra Peaks Corporation is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in Rockland, ME. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for mechanical and electronic assembly, including soldering, crimping, and component wiring. You will work with assembly of miniature mechanical and electrical components, ensuring quality control and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be able to read and work from wiring instructions, diagrams, and schematics, and possess a high aptitude for procedural work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cable assembly and mechanical assembly of platforms, frames, and custom enclosures
  • Support the engineering development team and learn product usage and application through system testing
  • Prepare and create final products for shipment, adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Part inspection with basic tools and other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Ability to read and work from wiring instructions, diagrams, and schematics
  • Ability to read and work from assembly instructions and assembly drawings
  • Possess a high aptitude for attention to detail and receptive to learning procedural work
  • Familiar with standard fasteners, such as screws, bolts, pins, nuts, and washers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be a US citizen and pass a background check and drug screening test

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an assembly tech in an electronic or related manufacturing environment
  • Proficient soldering skills and understanding of ISO Quality systems
  • Technical certifications and/or AS in Electronics, IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-A-620, and/or J-STD-001 certifications
  • Documentation, organization, and communication skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
