The Technical Instructor will oversee all instructional aspects of the designated program, which includes, but is not limited to, developing, updating, and assessing the curriculum to align with industry standards and student needs. The instructor will provide relevant skills training and educational support to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Curriculum Development: Create, revise, and continuously improve a dynamic and competency-based curriculum that meets current employer expectations and aligns with institutional standards. Evaluate student learning outcomes at various levels.
- Instructional Delivery: Prepare and present high-quality educational content while facilitating an engaging learning environment. Develop course syllabi and instructional plans, utilizing innovative teaching techniques.
- Instructional Management: Adhere to the assigned teaching schedule, maintain accurate student records, and ensure a safe and secure instructional environment.
- Student Support: Provide guidance to students regarding career options, preparation, and job opportunities, ensuring they receive comprehensive and timely information.
- Program Promotion: Engage in recruitment activities and assist in strategic planning to enhance program visibility and enrollment.
Support all facets of Texas State Technical College's offerings, including credit programs, non-credit workforce training, and dual enrollment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent certification/training.
- Proven expertise in the subject area.
- Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance learning; flexible availability for various teaching schedules; ability to work collaboratively in a team setting; dedication to the institution's mission and vision.
- Experience across multiple platforms and previous instructional roles.
- Certifications in OSHA, CPR, and GWO Training.
- 5+ years of experience in Wind Energy, PLC, HYTORC, and High Voltage.
- Strong public speaking and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of AC/DC systems and schematic reading.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as multi-meters, bore-scopes, thermal imaging devices, oscilloscopes, function generators, fiber optics, CAT 5, and networking.
