Mobility Specialist for Students with Visual Impairments

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide direct and indirect support to students with visual impairments in schools across the Lower Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. As an ideal candidate, you will possess ACVREP certification and have at least one year of experience working with minors in a school setting or with individuals with different impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide orientation and mobility evaluation and re-evaluation services for students in the region
- Evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis, documenting data to inform progress reports
- Collaborate with teachers of students with visual impairments to conduct functional vision assessments related to independent travel
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- ACVREP certification
- Minimum 1 year experience in a school setting or working with minors with different impairments
