Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Vision
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to support student achievement and operational efficiency by supervising staff, developing performance management plans, identifying professional learning needs, and participating in professional development opportunities.
    • Effectively participate in the employment and selection process to ensure a high-performing site team.
  • Instructional Leadership
    • Offer guidance, consultation, and support to teachers in developing classroom schedules, maintaining student data systems, and facilitating student transition plans to ensure tailored schedules and services based on individual student goals.
    • Collaborate with teachers to enhance teaching skills, including social, problem-solving, and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Provide supervision through assigning tasks, creating personal development plans, consistently monitoring and evaluating employee effectiveness, and communicating and coaching employee growth.
    • Recognize and address staff accomplishments and issues to ensure productive site operations.
  • Operational Leadership
    • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students and staff by maintaining site and classroom operations and adhering to guidelines for addressing/reporting incidents.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, including school schedules, activities, custodial and maintenance, food services, transportation, administration, financial/budgetary operations, resource allocation, and district/community relationships.
  • Communication and Representation
    • Represent Atlantis Academy through communication and collaboration with families, district, and community members.
    • Analyze staff professional development needs and align implementation with the instructional vision of Atlantis Academy.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, educational leadership, or a closely related field of study.
  • Experience
    • Effective management skills and comprehensive knowledge of administrative and school operations, functions, and enrollment standards.
    • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism spectrum disorders and/or related disabilities.
    • Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in curriculum development, assessment, and management in a classroom setting.
  • Skills
    • Proficiency in motivating students and having critical conversations to help them achieve realistic goals and next steps.
    • Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community and/or business partners.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents, customers, and the public.
