Position Summary

We are in search of a proficient EpicCare Willow Specialist to contribute to our mission. The EpicCare Willow application is an integral component of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) ecosystem, specifically tailored for managing pharmacy operations and facilitating the comprehensive medication management cycle, which encompasses medication ordering, dispensing, and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure the EpicCare Willow system to align with the unique requirements of the pharmacy department, including the establishment of medication formularies, dosing protocols, and dispensing workflows.
  • Provide training and support to pharmacy personnel, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to the EpicCare Willow application.
  • Ensure the system's optimal functionality through regular maintenance, updates, and collaboration with IT for database management and security enhancements.
  • Analyze current pharmacy workflows in partnership with pharmacy management to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and patient safety.
  • Implement and monitor strategies aimed at preventing medication errors, conducting audits, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to mitigate risks associated with medication management.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians and IT staff, to ensure the seamless integration of pharmacy systems with other Epic modules.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Analyst with Epic.
  • Demonstrated ability for self-directed learning.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
  • Possession of Willow Inpatient Certification, including current NVTs.
  • Certification in Epic ASAP or Ambulatory, or proficiency in another Epic application.
  • Experience in Willow medication charge build is highly desirable, along with pharmacy experience.
  • Proficiency in reporting build and testing experience is preferred.
  • A clinical background and experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in decision support and integration/data mapping is a plus.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with comprehensive knowledge of clinical theory and practice is required.
