Position: Quality Assurance Technician

Department: Quality Assurance

Status: Non-Exempt

Classification: Regular Full-time

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Shift: Saturday through Tuesday, 3:45 PM to 3:00 AM

Role Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting quality assessments and ensuring food safety across all Ever Fresh Fruit products, including raw materials, packaging, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain accurate records in accordance with established protocols.
2. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are upheld throughout the facility.
3. Assist in pre-operational inspections.
4. Support production processes as needed.
5. Monitor and comply with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans, taking corrective actions when necessary.
6. Conduct product quality tests (e.g., brix, pH, pressure, USDA grades).
7. Manage product documentation, including scanning and filing.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
3. Strong written communication skills for routine reports and correspondence.
4. Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
5. Effective verbal communication skills.
6. Aptitude for problem-solving in various situations.
7. Ability to follow diverse instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Working Conditions:

1. Exposure to wet and humid environments.
2. Potential exposure to loud noise levels.
3. Proximity to equipment with extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical currents.
4. Ability to work in environments with allergens.
5. Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
6. Occasional use of hands and fingers.
7. Frequent communication required.
8. Regular tasting and smelling of products.
9. Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry weights up to 50 pounds.
10. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
11. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
