We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Specialist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare community, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality clinical practice and professional development at the front-line.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop and implement education opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, aligned with departmental and system goals.
* Support staff in seeking and maintaining specialty certification, monitoring progress and completion.
* Identify opportunities to improve quality and practice areas, developing corresponding actions with key stakeholders.
* Lead and facilitate inter-professional teams for unit-based and house-wide clinical process improvement.
* Plan, implement, and evaluate division-specific learning activities to improve safety, including simulations and policy updates.
* Round on units to coach and mentor staff, promoting a culture of safety.
* Identify, mentor, and implement evidence-based practice projects, including unit and division order sets and practice guidelines.
* Participate in nursing and inter-professional clinical research projects, assisting in interpreting research findings and developing strategies for implementation.
* Actively participate in new employee orientation and monitor new hire goal progress.
* Develop and implement unit's annual competency and education plan, maintaining records of completion.
* Provide informal and formal education, including classroom instruction and skills assessments.
* Maintain visibility on all shifts, serving as a resource to off-shift staff and focusing on 'just in time' teaching at the bedside.
* Advocate for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare community, assuming a leadership role in professional activities and organizations.
* Collaborate with NM leadership teams to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans for quality improvement initiatives.
