Job Summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tualatin, Oregon. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with our principals and task leads on a variety of projects, including private site development and public works projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for a registered professional with a strong background in electrical design and project management. You will be responsible for leading and managing electrical design components for projects from early planning through design development and construction.

We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage electrical design components for projects from early planning through design development and construction
  • Perform technical calculations, plan lighting and electrical sheets, detail drawings, specifications, recommendations, and construction cost estimates for projects
  • Assist with project feasibility studies, prepare preliminary utility backbone infrastructure plans
  • Review utility plans prepared by utility providers
  • Design of street and site lighting, including photometric studies and plan preparation
  • Drafting or preparing markups for lighting and power systems
  • Design of low voltage power systems, including utility coordination, circuiting, one-line diagrams, etc.
  • Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results
  • Perform field inspections and/or evaluations of electrical systems and thorough on-going QA/QC review of deliverables
  • Coordinate with in-house disciplines and outside subconsultants
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related science field
  • Oregon Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in full electrical design (power, lighting, and voltage)
  • LEED experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and use of all MS Office products, AutoCAD, Revit, EasyPower, and Visual
  • Willingness to travel is required
