OR Technician

A day in the life of an OR Technician at Unavailable includes:

• Participating in all scrubbing responsibilities in compliance with our policies and AORN Recommended Standards of Practice.
• Displaying an understanding of surgical procedures being performed and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Maintaining compliance with infection control and OSHA requirements, including proper handling of surgical specimens.
• Assisting the surgical team in room turnover and preparation for the next procedure.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and preceptorship of new team members.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Licenses, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduation from an accredited education program for Surgical Technologists.
• Demonstration of the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) unless exempt per NJ Surgical Technology Certification Law.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Minimum of one year (1) of surgical scrubbing experience in an acute care setting.
