About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize your knowledge of engineering design principles to create sound designs that meet customer requirements in terms of safety, innovation, and utility.
  • Develop, evaluate, and validate designs to meet product requirements and cost targets through design reviews.
  • Establish a foundation for success in manufacturing by implementing and utilizing built-in quality (BIQ) and design for manufacturing (DFM) practices.
  • Manage engineering changes for both new machine design and existing products.
  • Detail piece part technical drawings, weldment technical drawings, assembly prints, and specifications to enable the production team to correctly fabricate, weld, and assemble all engineering output.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to turn proprietary designs into real factory outputs by optimizing the design for manufacturing methods, material selection, and material flow.
  • Support new product releases, including engineering, manufacturing, and field commissioning.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Solidworks
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience in assembly and manufacturing
