Job Summary

The U.S. Army health care team is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide vital mental health services to active duty, family members, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries. As a member of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest minds in medicine to address the unique challenges service men and women face every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit comprehensive health histories and perform complete physical examinations
  • Order and/or perform psychotherapy, command consultations, medication management, and conduct data analysis
  • Formulate problem lists, develop and implement plans of care, and collaborate with other health professionals
  • Refer patients to appropriate professionals as needed

Work Environment

You may work in various clinical areas, including inpatient psychiatric units, alcohol/drug rehabilitation programs, day treatment programs, mental health clinics, and combat stress units.

Requirements

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Other advanced life support certifications are encouraged
  • Master's degree as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from an accredited program
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner
