Montana K-12 Sign Language Interpreter for Virtual Education

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join our network in Montana. This is a fully remote position, providing instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The ideal candidate will be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and possess excellent communication and teaching skills.
Job OverviewThis role will provide sign language interpretation services during virtual classes, meetings, and other educational activities. The successful candidate will collaborate with classroom teachers and other educators to facilitate communication and support the learning needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Responsibilities- Instructional Support: Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services to ensure equal access to education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers and other educators to develop and implement strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and communication assignments.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Sign Language Interpretation, or a related field.
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or equivalent credential.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a strong understanding of deaf culture and communication methods.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using technology for remote instruction and communication.
- Active licensure in the state of Montana.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience.
