Residential Counselor

Join Brockton Area Multi-Servi as a Residential Counselor and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities.

As a Residential Counselor, you will work in a home environment, helping individuals develop connections and meaningful relationships in their community. Your role will involve supporting individuals with developing new skills, enabling them to become independent, happy, and successful.

• Empower individuals to advocate, make decisions, and become more independent in their homes and communities.
• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including toileting, showering/bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Support individuals in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, shopping, and money management.
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISP's), including behavioral plans and medication treatment plans.
• Utilize Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) practices to create a thoughtful and supportive environment.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, using their preferred method and language.
• Assist with access to community, including transportation, to enable individuals to participate in activities and events.

• Demonstrate knowledge of theories, methods, procedures, and practices of working with individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities.
• Proficiency in English, both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to conduct, review, and interpret assessments and medical treatments.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to work within Microsoft Office products.
