ManTech is in search of a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our operations. The primary responsibility of the ISSO is to assist in safeguarding the information systems of the United States Air Force.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Prepare, assess, and revise authorization documentation.
  • Ensure established protocols are adhered to for the sanitization and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Inform the ISSM of any changes that may impact the security authorization of the information systems.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of information systems to verify compliance with security standards.
  • Coordinate any alterations to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Oversee system recovery processes to confirm that security features are restored and operational.
  • Maintain up-to-date security documentation accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Collect, review, and document audit records, including any discrepancies.
  • Participate in necessary technical and security training relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Execute the cybersecurity components of self-assessments, including security coordination and review of system evaluation plans.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing countermeasures.
  • Generate reports detailing the status of security measures in place for computer systems.
  • Perform ISSO duties to support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct security impact analyses and provide insights to the ISSM regarding configuration management changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in information security.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution; 2 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Possession of an active DoD M IAT-II certification.
  • Familiarity with DoD/USAF information security policies and practical experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Experience in developing and contributing to RMF documentation and associated control families.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, management, and clients, including the ability to deliver presentations.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent operation of computers and other office machinery.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, including delivering presentations.
