Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a skilled Engineering Services professional to support the design, development, and deployment of microwave systems and services. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other engineers to resolve deployment issues, develop plans and schedules, and apply engineering processes for all deployment and testing activities.

As an Engineering Services employee, you will contribute to the global aviation community by supporting the development of advanced systems and services that enhance air traffic management systems. Key responsibilities include designing and configuring microwave systems, leading installation efforts, and managing installation teams.

Essential Functions:
1. Design and configure microwave systems to meet customer requirements.
2. Lead installation efforts for microwave/satellite radio and network equipment in racks and on towers throughout the US.
3. Conduct site surveys, create plans and reports, order, test, and pack/ship equipment.
4. Coordinate with FAA customers and subcontractors, including tower companies.
5. Manage installation teams and ensure systems are installed correctly.
6. Develop presentations for meetings and SOWs when necessary for subcontractors.
7. Travel 15% of the time, typically 1 week per month, and up to 2-3 weeks per month on rare occasions.
8. Interface and maintain good relationships with FAA customer Service verification engineers for major telecommunications.
9. Communicate and interface regularly with internal and external customers and program management.
10. Identify business opportunities and report to the project lead.
11. Identify process improvement opportunities and report to the project lead.
12. Obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field, with a minimum of six (6) years of prior relevant experience. Alternatively, a Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of prior related experience.

Three years of experience installing radio and/or networking equipment in the field or lab environment, and five years of experience with two of the following technical areas: Basic RF concepts, RF Microwave radios/hardware, and waveguide; Telco (Analog/T1) lines; Networking (Protocols, Routing, Subnetting, etc.).

Preferred Additional Skills:
Outstanding people and interpersonal skills, capable of working well with internal and external customers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a plus. Telecommunications background (Central Office/Optical/TDM/IP Networks) and Telecommunication Test Equipment (Central Office/Optical/TDM/IP) experience also preferred.
